The reviews were very good and we were passing through after visiting Stowe Gardens so stopped off, the reviews were spot on, a friendly welcome and a good selection to choose from. We had a banana milkshake pot of tea and a gammon cheese & pickle toastie….
Amazing hospitality, delicious food, warm vibes. The toasties are awesome, the crunchy outer complementing perfectly with the fillings inside. Must visit place when in Buckingham.
Would recommend the Veggie CPK. That’s very exceptional bap filled with generous amounts of guacamole, falafels, sweet onion chutney and a runny yolk poached egg. The homemade falafel tasted special to me with peanuts (I think), unlike those normal one from stores. The black coffee was nice, brewed with beans from local roastery. Very welcoming service by friendly staff too. Convenient location just next to a car park (parking charge: 70p for up to 3 hours)
A Dine Night at CPK is a real local treat and develops the flavour you get a hint of in the regular daytime menu and specials. The menu changes regularly to ensure the best use of seasonal produce from local suppliers and whatever the menu you will always find that the flavours are balanced across the courses. George's talent in the kitchen is matched by Sarah's dedication to service detail and matching of drinks (be it wine or some unique cocktail creation!). An experience not to be missed and one which is likely to tempt you to talk to the team about a Private Party where they can further showcase their skills. Having done this a couple of times for special events, we've seen how the menu is tailored to your tastes with some unique takes on your favourite dishes!
On our brief stay, we decided on breakfast at Cornwall Place Kitchen in Buckingham as it got a very high rating on Google maps. It didn't fail to impress. The setting is very eco conscious and they're proud to use locally sourced produce. The beaker of coffee hit the morning groggy spot and the eggy bread with bacon and maple syrup pleasantly woke up our taste buds. All very scummy and the locals know it, the cafe filled up quickly after we arrived and the locals queued patiently for their morning fix before their day. The little rolled up towels in the loo (no paper towels or noisy electric dryers here) were a nice touch Highly recommend.
Last week we ate at a competitor, and seeing how busy CPK was, decided to try it out today. We got there a little before their opening time but were warmly welcomed in by friendly staff. We were invited to sit “anywhere” and come order when we were ready. Taking our seats we perused the menu and I immediately lost my appetite (let me explain) A coffee shop that does not present a “traditional breakfast” and the items that are presented are between £12-£15 appeared extortionate. Pushing me out of my comfort zone and almost helping me make up my mind to drink coffee and swiftly move on. BUT my ever persistent partner was adamant that this is where we were to have our Saturday meal. Rather reluctantly I proceeded to place our order at the counter. An Americano and a sugar free Latte as well as a “Full Bowl” and a Banana and Caramel French Toast with cream (begrudgingly paid £38) and went to sit and sulk at my table. And THAT is where the bad news ended. What was presented is nothing short of Michelin Star quality!!! It’s started with delivery of THE best Latte I have ever had in my life! The perfect temperature with a creamy dense foam and naturally sweet milk. Then the food, I assumed the French toast would be a measly two slices with sliced banana and a cheap bottled toffee drizzle with canned whipped cream - OH NO NO!! Let me tell you - Brioche bread perfectly toasted topped with freshly chopped banana and a homemade caramel adorned with a perfect ball of fresh cream! WOWZER!! The breakfast bowl was mind blowing!! Each ingredient delicately prepared and perfectly complimenting all the other items in the bowl! The onion and mushroom chutney, pickle salad with coriander, salty bacon, crunchy croutons, savoury sausage patty and two poached eggs are all a match made in heaven - Divine! We had a really lovely breakfast at Cornwall Place Kitchen in Buckingham. The ‘Porkwich’ was excellent—packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and a great start to the day. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a relaxed vibe that made it a great spot to sit and enjoy our meal. Service was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. It’s also a great place for dog owners, as they’re very dog-friendly, making it even more inviting. A fantastic little café, and we’ll definitely be back!
Food was delicious and fresh, just what we wanted before a day of exploring - I got the shroomy halloumi egg bowl and sunshine smoothie. Staff were friendly and welcoming and service was reasonably quick.
Food too good to pause and photograph! We are regular visitors to Cornwall Place Kitchen (CPK). There is much to say about this fantastic little gem in Buckingham. Firstly, the greeting you receive as you walk through the door makes you feel so incredibly welcome. The staff are always genuinely full of life and joy for what they do. Their passion for service, quality ingredients and a calm and warm customer experience is evident in everything they do. The venue is relaxed and the menu is limited, but perfected. Some of the best of their creations are saved for special events such as the CPK burger evenings (more about these shortly) but that’s not to downplay the standard daytime menu which in itself is a masterful touch of genius. The signature ‘CPK’ is a firm favourite with us. Sausage patty, bacon, bacon jam, egg, bun. Simple, but oh so good! The egg bowls are also something special and if you like mushrooms and pesto in the same toastie then you will be delighted with the sandwich on offer here. The coffee is rich and deep in flavour, the best in Buckingham. We love the cutlery, crockery and otherwise exceptional attention to detail across the premises. Now, the burger nights! A few times a year the staff open the doors for an evening event of such incredible flavours that are hard to describe in words. Let’s just say that these are hands down the best burgers I have ever had in my life. Two smash patties, cheddar sauce, bacon jam, black garlic aioli, shredded lettuce in a tasty bun. Also to be found served at local festivals and other events, they represent some of the best value you will find in Buckingham. If you still have room for something sweet, there are always unique and tasty treats available such as the crazy kinder bueno ‘brookie’ (brownie, cookie smashed together) with a dollop of clotted iced cream that I enjoyed recently. I hope that CPK continue to go from strength to strength and remain a firm fixture in the Buckingham community for years
We stopped by a local French pastry shop to see if they had anything in on a Sunday late afternoon. Unfortunately, they didn’t as they were having classes that day, however, she did tell us that if you go down to the Cornwall Palace kitchen, they have our pastries there. So a short walk later we found this wonderful little coffee shop. As you might imagine, the cookie that we chose was absolutely delicious. I had a Cortado and my wife had an extra hot latte. Both were made impeccably and served with smiles and friendliness. The vibe of this little place is really relaxed and enjoyable. We are here in February and I’m pretty sure everyone else is a local. That’s a definite thumbs up for us. The total bill came to just over £12. The restroom is super clean and… Wait for it… Has actual cloth wash cloths to dry your hands on after washing. Outstanding! So if you’re in the area, we highly suggest you stop in and enjoy.
